Unit 3 : Age 7 - 14 - two workshops
As we explore Rudolf Steiner's understanding of human development from birth to 21 over this coming year, the third unit will be held on two Friday afternoons and two Saturday mornings at the Ithaca Waldorf School..
Friday, January 24 - free lecture, open to the public 3:30-5pm
Saturday, January 25 - workshop from 9:00 am - 1:00 pm, $30
Friday, February 7 - free lecture, open to the public 3:30-5pm
Saturday, February 8 - workshop from 9:00 am - 1:00 pm, $30
Foundational knowledge of anthroposophy or Waldorf education is recommended prior to the lectures or workshops.
Overview: This unit covers human development from 7 to 14, the elementary school years. Topics will include the grades curriculum based on child development, the nine-year change, first grade readiness, thinking-feeling-willing.
Mark Ebersole will bring Eurythmy to the participants as experience and give an overview of the grades Eurythmy curriculum.
This is the third out of five units. The workshop facilitator for this unit is Laura Hayes, long-term Waldorf educator trained in Waldorf education and curative education. She is the current school director at IWS.
