We’re building a new home! Construction has begun on our new school building, located just 7 minutes from downtown Ithaca on Nelson Road in Danby, NY.
Things are really progressing on the building now! Since January 4, the building footprint was excavated, the foundation footer and walls were poured, waterproofing on the foundation footer installed, and the “inside” (what will be the crawl space) filled with insulation and gravel. Drainage around the perimeter of the foundation has been installed. Our framer is set to begin around January 23, and anticipates that he’ll have the frame up, doors and windows hung, and roof over the building by mid-May.
Our new home constructed on our own 80 acres of farm land, will include 6 classrooms, both for grades and Kindergarten as well as, a community space. (We will continue to offer a second Kindergarten class in our downtown location in the First Presbyterian Church.) The project completion date is September, 2012.
