Summer Camp Assistant Teacher

The Ithaca Waldorf School (www.ithacawaldorf.org) has two summer programs offered one for ages 4-6 and the other for ages 7-12 and we are seeking warm, caring and supportive Assistant Teachers, five days/week from 8:00am-3:30pm.

Our Early Childhood Explorers program is looking for an assistant for the weeks of 7/8-7/12, 7/15-7/19 and 8/5-8/9. Our Farm program is seeking an assistant for the weeks of 7/29-8/2 and 8/5-8/9.

Ideal candidates are friendly and open, joyful, and have experience working with children.

All candidates should be able to provide a safe, nurturing and orderly environment which meets the needs of the children in care.  Outdoor play and visits to The Farm are part of the daily program for children of all ages. Most of the time is spent outdoors, regardless of the weather. However, if indoors it is expected that the teacher will leave a clean and orderly classroom at the end of each day.

Compensation is $19/hour for the Assistant Teacher position.

The independent, not-for-profit Ithaca Waldorf School is authorized by the New York State Department of Education to provide instruction through Grade 8.  A fully-accredited member of the Waldorf Early Childhood Association of North America (WECAN), we are currently an associate school with the Association of Waldorf Schools of North America.  The Ithaca Waldorf School is nestled in the New York Finger Lakes on an 80-acre organic campus composed of field, forest and a biodynamic and educational farm.
