First Grade Teacher

The Ithaca Waldorf School is seeking an enthusiastic, warm teacher to help guide our rising 1st grade on their journey through the grades.  Candidates must have excellent verbal and written communication skills, an aptitude and interest for strong colleagueship and collaboration with teachers and staff, as well as, an ability to form warm relationships with parents.  A commitment to working in an environment that fosters the education of the whole human being is highly desired.  The ideal candidate would have a Bachelor’s degree, a Waldorf teacher training certificate and at least 2 years teaching experience in a Waldorf school.  IWS is a small developing Waldorf School with a bright future in a new building on 80 acres in the lovely and diverse community of Ithaca.  We invite individuals that are interested in participating in the growth of our school and community by participating in outreach events, parent education, and other community building opportunities.

Lead Kindergarten Teacher

The Ithaca Waldorf School is seeking a lead Kindergarten teacher for a full-day, mixed-
aged Kindergarten class for the 2012-2013 academic year. Our Kindergarten program
runs from 8:30 am – 3:00 pm for children ages 3 to 6 years. Responsibilities will also
include overseeing Kindergarten assistant, participating in school festivals, providing
parent education opportunities, and working collaboratively with colleagues.

We are looking for a warm and enthusiastic individual with both Waldorf Early Childhood
training and Waldorf school teaching experience for one of our two Kindergarten
classes. Additional qualities we are seeking include: a strong singing and music ability,
proficiency in working with parents and parent education, a sense of humor, and a love
of winter!

The Ithaca Waldorf School is recognized by AWSNA as a developing Waldorf school.
